Did You Know?

Keno is believed to date back to China in the 1st century AD when characters from one of Confucius` poems were used, rather than numbers, in the matrix.

Keeping the same flexibility of playing methods, the version offered through the Rhode Island Lottery since September 1992 bears a resemblance to the original game. Using a matrix of 10 of 20 of 80 numerals, rather than characters from Confucius` poem, players can win up to $100,000 on regular Keno, or up to $1,000,000 with the Keno Plus option.

New games are drawn every four minutes throughout the day.

Object of Game

Players may choose from one (1) to ten (10) numbers between one and eighty, in hope that some or all will be randomly selected by the centralized computer.

Keno Retailers are equipped with a television monitor that displays a new drawing every four minutes.

A win occurs when some or all of the numbers (spots) selected by the player are matched by the computer. The more numbers that are matched, the higher the payout. It is even possible to win a cash prize when none of the wagered on numbers in a ten spot game are drawn.

Keno Plus

Keno Plus

A special multiplier number is also randomly drawn along with the Keno numbers every 4 minutes. Possible multipliers are 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 or No Plus. To play Keno Plus, simply mark the "yes" box on the Keno Plus play slip. The Keno Plus wager must be the same amount that is wagered on Keno. (For example, if a player wagers $1 on Keno, then the Keno Plus wager is an additional $1.)

A wheel will spin before each Keno game, and a ball will drop into one slot to reveal which multiplier, if any, is applied to the next regular Keno game. If you choose the Multiplier option, your wager price is doubled, but your prize gets multiplied by the Multiplier number drawn. (For example, if you win $27 on Keno and the multiplier for that game is 10, then you will collect $270.)

The top prize on a $1 wager is $100,000 on regular Keno, if all ten numbers selected by a player are also selected by the computer. By adding the Keno Plus option and doubling your wager, the top prize could become $1,000,000 if the multiplier is ten.

Wagers can be placed for $1, $2, $5 or $10, for 1, 2, 5, 10 or 15 consecutive plays. The maximum wager per ticket is $150 on Keno and $300 on Keno Plus.

How to fill out your play slip

1 Check "YES" if you want to play Multi Chance Keno for a chance to win free games and bonus prizes. Multi Chance Keno is double your base wager per game.
Keno Play Slip
2 Check "YES" if you want to play Keno Plus for a chance to multiply prizes by up to 10X. Keno Plus is double your base wager per game.
3

On your play slip choose how many numbers (spots) you want to play, from 1 - 10.

4

Decide how much you want to wager per game $1, $2, $5, or $10.

5

Select the number of consecutive games you wish to play: 1, 2, 5, 10 or 15. Remember, the total ticket cost is equal to the amount wagered times the number of consecutive games. (For example: If a Keno game is played on a $2 wager for 5 consecutive games, the ticket would cost $10.)

6 Either select your own numbers or indicate "Quick Pick" and let the computer choose them for you. Remember, if you choose your own numbers, the amount of numbers must equal the number of "spots" you have selected to play.
The maximum wager on Keno is $150 per ticket. The maximum wager on Keno Plus or Multi Chance Keno is $300 per ticket. If both Keno Plus and Multi Chance Keno are played, the maximum wager is $450.
