With Thanksgiving just days away, the following Rhode Island Lottery winners will have something extra to be thankful for this year.
A Lincoln man walked away with $25,000 after winning on the Daily Numbers game. He had five separate tickets for the November 16 drawing, each with a one dollar 4-digit straight bet on the lucky number 3 7 5 0. Each ticket won $5,000 for a combined total of $25 grand. The winner plans to invest the winnings. The Sunoco at 634 George Washington Highway in Lincoln sold the winning tickets.
A Pawtucket man also got some extra money for the holidays when he played a combination of tickets using the numbers 8 3 2 4 for the November 17 drawing. His four tickets included 50 cent and one dollar wagers on both straight and box bets for a win totaling $18,020. He purchased all of the winning tickets at Saad Food Mart on Newport Avenue in Pawtucket.
The "Pure Gold" Instant Ticket showered a Johnston man with a $24,000 windfall, which he's planning to use for Christmas gifts and to help out his children. He bought the winning ticket at Stop & Shop, 850 Manton Ave., Providence.
Arthur Culotta, Bradford, cashed in a $20,000 winning "Lucky Times 20" Instant Ticket that he bought at Barca's Market in Bradford. He said the game is one of his favorites to play and he originally thought he only won $2,000 because he didn't have his glasses on when he scratched the ticket. He realized he was a $20,000 winner as soon as he put his glasses on, but said he still feels like he's dreaming. He's going to use the winnings to either visit his brother in the Philippines or go to Jamaica.
A Providence man was "In the Money, Honey" after winning $10,000 on the Instant Ticket with that name. He said with seventeen grandchildren, the money will be a help while he does his Christmas shopping. Providence Market, Inc. on Broad Street in Providence sold the winning ticket.
