A Winning Start to December
With holiday shopping commencing, these recent Rhode Island Lottery winners will have some extra cash this year.
Kevin Gilchrist of Warwick plays Rhode Island Lottery's Holiday Instant Tickets every season. This year, it paid off. He played the "Trim the Tree" Instant Ticket and the first number he scratched off ended up revealing $75,000! He plans to purchase a new car. Lakewood Liquors, 774 Warwick Ave., Warwick sold the big winning ticket.
Another man, also from Warwick, won $35,000 playing the "Big Winning Numbers" Instant Ticket. He purchased the winning ticket from 7-Eleven, 2078 West Shore Rd., Warwick.
Two Rhode Island Lottery Holiday Instant Tickets offer second chance opportunities. A total of $12,000 in prizes will be given away in second chance drawings for non-winning "Winter Winfall" Instant Tickets. "Peppermint 7's" Instant Tickets offer the second chance with non-winning tickets to win VIP tickets to an upcoming show at the Providence Performing Arts Center. Players can join or log in to Rhode Island Lottery's VIP Club, to enter the serial numbers of these non-winning tickets for a second chance to win.
Christina Diaz of Pawtucket won $10,000 playing Daily Number 2 0 1 3, from the November 29 drawing. They are her favorite numbers off of her license plate. She opted to wager $1 on two (2) 4-digit straight tickets, winning $5,000 on each. Diaz plans to use the money towards her house and bills. Gulf Express, 698 Broadway, Pawtucket, sold the winning tickets.
A Providence man also won big playing number 2 0 1 3 from that same draw. He won $10,208 wagering $1 on a 4-digit straight and a 4-digit combo. He played the number for this year, 2013, the year his niece was born. He plans to pay bills. He purchased the winning ticket at Rumi Wine & Spirits, 700 Prairie Ave., Providence.
Finally, another man also from Providence won $10,416 playing number 2 0 1 3. He's been playing the same number for two years. He wagered $1 on two (2) 4-digit combo tickets at City Gas, 253 Elmwood Ave., Providence.
