$50,000 & $20,000 Instant Ticket Wins
A Narragansett man picked up a "$50,000 Richer" Instant Ticket on Saturday morning and instantly discovered that he was a $50,000 winner. He said the ticket has been burning a hole in his pocket all weekend. Healy News Store, 231 Robinson St., Wakefield, sold the winning ticket.
Stephen Boatwright of Plainville, Mass., cashed in a $20,000 winning "$1,000,000 Scratch" Instant Ticket. He and his wife were at Dave's Marketplace, 2077 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland, when he decided to leave his wife to do the shopping while he bought a lottery ticket. They were both so surprised by the win that they had a difficult time concentrating on their grocery shopping. They plan to save the money in the bank right now.
A Fall River woman started her weekend off with a $5,000 win in Friday night's Mega Millions® drawing. Her Quick Pick ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number for the standard payout of $5,000. If she had added the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar, the prize would have been multiplied by two, Friday's Megaplier® number, to equal $10,000. Step by Step Mart, Inc. at 429 Main Rd., Tiverton, sold the winning ticket. Tomorrow's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $160 million.
