$2 Million PowerBall® Power Play® Winner - $43,232 Wild Money Jackpot Hit
Lots of Thankful Rhode Island Lottery Winners
Many Rhode Island Lottery winners got a piece of the pie this Thanksgiving!
Saturday night's PowerBall® drawing resulted in a $2 million PowerBall® Power Play® ticket sold. The ticket matched five numbers but not the PowerBall® number, for the standard payout of $1,000,0000. However, the Power Play® feature was added for an extra dollar which increased the prize to $2,000,000. The prize has not yet been claimed. The PowerBall® Power Play® winning ticket was purchased at I M Gan Discount Liquor, 380 Warwick Ave., Warwick.
A $10,000 PowerBall® ticket from the November 15 drawing has been claimed by a woman from Coventry. She purchased her winning ticket at Dave's Marketplace, 23 Shopper Pkwy, Coventry.
Wednesday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $40 million.
The Rhode Island Lottery is also waiting for the $43,232 Wild Money jackpot winner from Saturday's drawing to come in. The winning ticket was purchased at Healy News, 213 Robinson St., Wakefield.
Tuesday's estimated Wild Money jackpot is $20,000.
Martin Lachapelle of Mapleville was another thankful winner. He won $20,000 playing the "$1,000,000 Scratch" Instant Ticket. He bought the ticket at Pick n Pay Food Mart, 615 Putnam Pike, Greenville, for himself for his birthday, which was on Thanksgiving. He scratched the ticket later that night and had to put his reading glasses on to make sure he was seeing the winning numbers correctly! His mother shared the winning moment with him. He hasn't made plans for the winnings yet.
A Warwick man also won $20,000 playing the "Lucky Times 20" Instant Ticket. He picked it up at the 7-Eleven, 2078 West Shore Rd., Warwick, last night. He had to check the ticket 4 or 5 times to make sure he was reading it correctly! He plans to pay bills and use the rest towards Christmas shopping.
The Numbers Game
Finally, a Cumberland man was equally thankful this Thanksgiving. He won $10,000 playing Daily Number 1 3 5 7 from the evening drawing on November 26. He wagered $2 on a 4-digit straight. 732 High Street Market, 732 High St., Cumberland sold the winning ticket.
A Warwick woman found out she was a $10,208 Daily Numbers winner while stuffing her Thanksgiving turkey. She always buys her tickets at Greenwood Liquor Center, 2725 Post Rd., Warwick, because it is owned by one of her friends. It was that owner who called to let her know her number was drawn for the November 26 Evening drawing. The winner told Lottery staff "It's the first time in my life that I'm speechless." She has been playing the same number since the Numbers game first began. The lucky number, 1 3 5 7, came from her husband's military dog tag that he received in 1957. She played three separate tickets for that night's drawing: two $1 4-digit straight bets and one $1 4-digit box bet to win $10,208 total.
