$10,000 PowerBall® Wins in Rhode Island
$35,000 Instant Win
A $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket was sold in Rhode Island for Saturday night's drawing. The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winner did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the player had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 2, Saturday's Power Play® number, to equal $20,000. The winning ticket was purchased at Colbea Enterprises, 1190 Quaker Ln., Warwick. The $10,000 prize has yet to be claimed.
A $10,000 PowerBall® ticket from the December 20th drawing has been claimed by a gentleman from Warwick. He purchased the ticket at Cumberland Farms, 1291 Warwick Ave., Warwick. According to the winner, he didn't realize he won the prize until he went to buy a PowerBall® ticket for Saturday's drawing and had the clerk check his older ticket. When the message came up directing him to Rhode Island Lottery Headquarters, he wasn't sure what that meant, but all of the Cumberland Farms staff knew and told him he won something big! The winner plans to use the money to pay bills.
Wednesday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $261 million.
