$50,000 Easter Basket Win
Robert Prodnick Jr. from Youngstown, OH, claimed a $50,000 "Super Crossword" Instant Ticket. He was in Rhode Island visiting friends and family for Easter and his nephew's first birthday. His aunt passed out Easter bags with lottery tickets to all of the adults at Easter brunch, and his bag included the "Super Crossword" ticket. He thought his ticket was worth $2,000 and said he planned to buy lunch for everyone, but when he found out it was really $50,000, he thought he was going to have a heart attack. His plans for the money now include paying off his car, buying his nephew a very nice first birthday gift, and putting the rest in the bank. Snacks Plus, 880 Oaklawn Ave., Cranston, sold the winning ticket.
Family also helped a Warwick man win $27,080 on the Numbers game. After his daughter told him about her dream with the number 1 1 3 7, he decided to place a $5 combo bet using that number for Friday's evening draw. He bought the ticket at Rumi Wine & Spirits, 700 Prairie Ave., Providence. The winner said he'll use the winnings to renovate his daughter's bathroom.
The was also a $10,000 Daily Numbers win on the April 1 evening drawing. A Central Falls man wagered a $2 4-digit straight bet using the day his mother passed away and his birth year. It was a few days later that he saw the draw results in the paper and realized he won. He purchased the ticket at Rite Aid, 1114 Broad St., Central Falls, and has not made plans for the winnings.
