How it Works

50th Anniversary 2nd Chance

Play the “50 Years” Anniversary Instant Games to enter the 50th Anniversary Second Chance! All non-winning $2, $5, and $10 “50 Years” tickets (Game Numbers 1420, 1422, and 1423) are eligible for the Second Chance.  

Four Second Chance Anniversary Game Event Winners will each have the chance to win $10,000, $50,000, $100,000, $500,000 or $1,000,000* at an event at Bally’s Twin River Lincoln on Thursday, December 19, 2024!

Additionally, one Second Chance Top Prize winner will also be drawn for each of the “50 Years” Instant Games. Only the $2 game tickets entered will be eligible to win the $5,000 top prize for the $2 game, only $5 game tickets entered will be eligible to win the $30,000 top prize, and only $10 game tickets will be eligible to win that game’s $50,000 top prize.

“50 Years” Anniversary tickets purchased Saturday, January 6, 2024, through Monday, December 2, 2024, can be entered in the 50th Anniversary Second Chance drawings.

Drawing & Prize Information:

The “50 Years” Second Chance winners will be drawn on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. All Anniversary Game Event Winners must verify their attendance, or assign a proxy, by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.  If any Winner fails to verify their attendance by this deadline, they will be disqualified, and their prize will be forfeited, and an alternate Winner will be drawn.  

Anniversary Game Event Winners will attend an event at Bally’s Twin River Lincoln on December 19, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., where they’ll each have the opportunity to win one of these prize amounts: $10,000, $50,000, $100,000, $500,000, or $1,000,000*.

One Top Prize from each of the 50 Years games will also be awarded in separate Second Chance Top Prize drawings on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.  Each of the Top Prize winners will have one year from the end of the Instant Game to claim their prize.

*The $500,000 and $1,000,000 prizes may be paid as an annuity.

50th Anniversary 2nd Chance

Entry Guidelines:

  1. The following non-winning Rhode Island Lottery Instant Ticket games can be entered into the 50th Anniversary Second Chance Promotion (“Promotion”): 50 Years (Game Numbers 1420, 1422, and 1423).  This Promotion consists of two (2) components: (i) a drawing (“Event Drawing”) to be selected for an opportunity to win a prize at a special event at Bally’s Twin River Lincoln on Thursday, December 19, 2024 (“Anniversary Game Event”) and (ii) drawings to win the Second Chance Top Prize for each of the respective 50 Years Instant Ticket games (“Top Prize Drawing(s)”).
  2. Only registered Rhode Island Lottery VIP Club members with Standard and Plus level memberships are eligible to enter this Promotion. VIP Club registration is free, and members must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age to join.
  3. Players will need to enter the thirteen (13)-digit serial number found above the barcode on the back of their non-winning game ticket(s) followed by the ten (10)-digit number from the ticket front under the latex scratch area.
  4. Each ticket’s serial number may be entered only one (1) time. 
  5. Only entries submitted online are eligible to win.  No other method of entry will be accepted.
  6. Entries must be submitted between 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, and 11:59 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024 (“Promotional Period”). Only entries submitted during the Promotional Period will be eligible to win.
  7. No entries will be accepted after the final entry deadline of 11:59 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, for this Promotion.
  8. For the Anniversary Game Drawing component, the number of entries a player will receive for a ticket is dependent upon the price point of the Instant Ticket, i.e. two (2) entries for the two-dollar ($2) game, five (5) entries for the five-dollar ($5) game, and ten (10) entries for the ten dollar ($10) game.
  9. For the Top Prize Drawings component, each ticket entered will get one (1) entry into corresponding Top Prize Drawing for the respective 50 Years Instant Ticket game entered as follows:
    1. All entries received from the two-dollar ($2) 50 Years game (Game #1420) will be eligible to win the five thousand-dollar ($5,000) top prize.
    2. All entries received from the five-dollar ($5) 50 Years game (Game #1422) will be eligible to win the thirty-thousand-dollar ($30,000) top prize.
    3. All entries received from the ten-dollar ($10) 50 Years game (Game #1423) will be eligible to win the fifty-thousand-dollar ($50,000) top prize.
  10. All entries under a ticket’s serial number can only win once in this Promotion.
  11. All eligible entries in each drawing have an equal chance of winning.
  12. Odds of winning in any of the drawings for this Promotion will vary depending upon the number of entries received for each drawing. There is an entry cap of five hundred (500) entries per day per player.
  13. Rhode Island Lottery employees, retailers, vendors, including advertising agencies and promotional companies involved in this Promotion as well as family and household members of same, and anyone else deemed ineligible by the Rhode Island Lottery are prohibited from entering this promotion and shall be ineligible for any Prize.
  14. Limit of one (1) winner per household for the Promotion. 

Event Drawing and Winners:

  1. One (1) drawing will be held for four (4) Anniversary Game Winners. 
  2. The Rhode Island Lottery reserves the right to disqualify winners at the time of the draw and/or at the conclusion of the attendance confirmation period and select alternate entries if necessary.
  3. Each Anniversary Game Winner will have an opportunity to win a prize at the Anniversary Game Event from the available game prizes including:  ten-thousand-dollars ($10,000), fifty-thousand-dollars ($50,000), one-hundred-thousand-dollars ($100,000), five-hundred-thousand-dollars ($500,000), and one-million-dollars ($1,000,000) (“Event Game Prize(s)”).
  4. VIP Club member accounts must be active in order to be selected in the Event Drawing and win an Event Game Prize.
  5. All Anniversary Game Event Winners will be contacted by e-mail and/or telephone within twenty-four (24) hours of the drawing date. Please be sure your VIP Club member account is updated with your latest contact information.
  6. To be eligible to win one (1) of the available Game Event Prizes, the Anniversary Game Winner(s), or the Anniversary Game Winner’s proxy, shall be required to attend the Anniversary Game Event in person and to play a game on the Lighthouse Stage. 
  7. Each Anniversary Game Winner must confirm attendance to the Anniversary Game Event by Tuesday, December 10, 2024. The Anniversary Game Winner may appoint a proxy (subject to the proxy satisfying the Rhode Island Lottery’s rules, regulations, restrictions, and guidelines) to attend the Anniversary Game Event on the Anniversary Game Winner’s behalf, but the prize will go to, and must be claimed by, the Anniversary Game Winner. No proxy will be provided on the Anniversary Game Winner’s behalf by the Rhode Island Lottery.  
  8. If an Anniversary Game Winner does not confirm attendance or appoint a suitable proxy by Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the Anniversary Game Winner shall forfeit the opportunity to participate in the Anniversary Game Event and/or win an Event Game Prize and an alternate will be drawn.
  9. Failure to attend the Anniversary Game Event will result in the forfeiture of the Event Game Prize. 
  10. In order to claim and receive an Event Game Prize, the Anniversary Game Winner must appear in person at the Rhode Island Lottery Headquarters by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, and provide a copy of a valid, government-issued photo I.D, provide proof of their Social Security Number or complete and sign an IRS W-9 form, and must complete and sign a Rhode Island Lottery claim form and Winner Release form.
  11. All Anniversary Game Winners are subject to a mandatory debt setoff check and will be reviewed for debt owed to the State of Rhode Island. If an Anniversary Game Winner is identified as having an outstanding debt, any money owed will be withheld at the time of the prize claim.  The required amount of all state and federal taxes will also be withheld, as required by the State of Rhode Island and the Internal Revenue Service.

Top Prize Drawings and Winners:

  1. Three (3) drawings will be held for one (1) winner in each drawing (“Second Chance Prize Winner”) to win a Second Chance Top Prize for each eligible 50 Years Instant Ticket game.
  2. Each Second Chance Top Prize Winner must claim their prize by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2025. If a prize is not claimed by the deadline, then the prize will be forfeited.
  3. In order to claim a Second Chance Top Prize, the Second Chance Prize Winners must come to the Rhode Island Lottery in person and provide a copy of a valid, government-issued photo I.D, provide proof of their Social Security Number or complete and sign an IRS W-9 form, and must complete and sign a Rhode Island Lottery claim form and Winner Release form.

  1. The Rhode Island Lottery makes no implied warranties of any kind with respect to the safety, appearance, or performance of any prize offered.
  2. By participating in this Promotion, entrants hereby release and agree to hold harmless the Rhode Island Lottery, its directors, employees, officers and agents from any and all liability, loss, or damages arising from or in connection with the Promotion, including without exception, the awarding, receipt, and/or use or misuse of the prize.
  3. The Rhode Island Lottery, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if any prize cannot be awarded as described due to unavailability or for any other reason.  Additional restrictions and conditions specific to any particular prize will be disclosed to winners upon prize notification.
  4. Regardless of whether a winner claims the prize, winners’ names will be posted online through the Lottery’s website and social media outlets including Facebook, Instagram, X, and any other source deemed necessary by the Rhode Island Lottery. 
  5. The Rhode Island Lottery reserves the right to publish winners’ names, hometowns, photographs and/or videos for publicity purposes without any claim for broadcasting, internet, print, other rights or further compensation.
  6. Each person participating in this Promotion agrees by the act of participation to be bound by these rules and procedures, statutes, administrative rules and procedures of the Rhode Island Lottery.
  7. The Rhode Island Lottery reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the Promotion, and change these rules due to any act of God; fire; casualty; flood; war; failure of public utilities; injunction or any act, exercise, assertion or requirement of governmental authority; epidemic; destruction of production facilities; riots; insurrection; inability to procure or use materials, labor, equipment, transportation or energy; or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Rhode Island Lottery or if the drawings cannot be conducted as planned due to errors in these rules or advertising, unauthorized intervention, tampering, fraud, technical errors, viruses, worms, bugs, or any other cause beyond the control of the Rhode Island Lottery that, in the Rhode Island Lottery's sole judgement, could corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the drawings.
  8. All entries shall be subject to verification by the Rhode Island Lottery.
  9. The Rhode Island Lottery reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant it deems or suspects to be tampering with the operation of the Promotion or the associated drawings or to be acting in violation of these rules and procedures, statutes, administrative rules and procedures of the Rhode Island Lottery.
  10. The Rhode Island Lottery is not responsible for incomplete, lost, late, damaged, or misdirected entries, or for any technical problems, malfunctions of any telephone lines, computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, or any combination thereof.
